Ashtanga Primer

This course is the culmination of many of the classes we have taught at Yogasala over the years. Taking the Ashtanga Primary series as our framework we will explore the asanas workshop style discovering the secrets of action and alignment in the pose.

We will then practice the asanas in the vinyasa method linking movement to breath in a flowing
dynamic style. Our focus over the five days will be to develop the capability to practice for our-
selves at our own pace with even concentration.

At the end of the course students may choose to continue to work in the Ashtanga style or may take what they have learned to formulate their own practice outlines.

William is highly respected for his attention to detail and wealth of knowledge concerning asana
practice. He has been practicing Ashtanga yoga for fourteen years in the Primary, Intermediate
and Advanced series.

The course covers breathwork, ujjayi pranayama, hip openers, backbends, and inversions,
standing poses, sun salutes and forward bends.

ASHTANGA PRIMER PLUS

For those students who wish to intensify their practice and speed the memorization of the series we are offering a discount on the Mysore classes. You will self practice the previous days asanas from the beginning of the series. In this way you will revise the daily programme under supervision, in this way you are guaranteed to be able to practice for yourself by the end of five days.
